For a multi-generation family or a group of six or more, booking three or four hotel rooms is expensive and scatters everyone across corridors. A whole villa keeps the group together, with a kitchen to cook in and a living room to gather — and it usually works out cheaper per person.

If your group needs a 24/7 front desk and daily housekeeping, a hotel is still easier. If you want to actually spend time together, a villa makes more sense.
Eight questions to ask before booking
- How many bedrooms and bathrooms? For big groups, bathrooms matter as much as bedrooms.
- Bed types in each room: double or twin, and whether extra mattresses are available.
- Can a car or minibus reach the door? Many villas sit in narrow lanes where a 16-seater can't enter. Ask where the nearest drop-off is.
- Kitchen equipment: stove, pots and pans, a fridge big enough for everyone.
- With small children: are stair railings solid, and is the pool (if any) fenced or covered?
- Quiet hours: villas in residential areas usually limit evening noise.
- Damage deposit: how much, and when it's returned.
- Mid-stay cleaning: included or not, for stays over a week.
Tips for large groups
- Pick one contact person for messages and payment.
- Send the guest list in advance so the host can handle residence registration.
- For holidays, Tết or summer, book months ahead — large villas go first.
